This picture is a .TIF image engraved in aluminum using a V-tip milling cutter. The tool bit cutting depth is controlled by the image intensity with the deepest cuts being the dark portions of the image. The maximum cutting depth for this picture was 0.006 inches. When viewed at the right angle under ordinary light it has a holographic appearance. The image size was 3" x 2" with a total machining time of around 20 minutes for the scan increment used.
