A beautifully machined 3D part from our European Distributor Jeremy Gough of Quantum CNC (Europe) Ltd. The picture shows the finished part after a series of 3 machining operations - Roughing, Semi-finishing and Finishing. The 3 tool path programs were created using Millwizard with a 6mm dia. ball end mill for the roughing pass, a 3mm dia. ball end mill for the semi-finish pass and a 6mm dia. 45 deg D bit with a 0.5 mm radius used for the final finishing. The material was an HE30 aluminum alloy. The part size was 4" x 2 3/4" with an image depth of 0.315". Total machining time was 6 hours and 49 minutes. |
