Features:
The Digitizing Probe is a single point force contact stylus. It is held in the spindle (while turned off) of the MicroMill just like a tool bit. It is set to automatically raster scan a surface and record the (x,y,z) coordinates within a user specified xy scan envelope. The x sample distance and y raster increment are specified by the user with a resolution of 0.001 inches. The scan method can be either xy rastering or xy spiral rastering as shown in the figures below. Many applications in reverse engineering and replicating unique shapes are possible.
